Severson Ag is seeking a skilled and reliable Farm Equipment Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of farm machinery, ensuring that our farming operations are conducted efficiently and safely. This role is essential to the day-to-day success of our farm, and it requires a strong understanding of agricultural equipment and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of farm equipment, including tractors, combines, sprayers, and other machinery, to perform tasks such as planting, harvesting, spraying, and tillage

  • Ensure all equipment is used correctly and efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

  • Conduct routine maintenance on all farm equipment to ensure it is in good working order.

  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs as needed to keep machinery operational during critical farming periods.

  • Report any major equipment issues to management for timely repair.

  • Assist in preparing fields for planting by operating tillage equipment and applying fertilizers and chemicals.

  • Help with crop management tasks, including planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops, as required.

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and apply them in all aspects of equipment operation.

  • Accurately document equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents or issues that arise.

  • Maintain logs of fuel usage, hours of operation, and other relevant data.
